Cardopusher

Born and raised in Caracas (Venezuela), now based in Barcelona (Spain), Luis Garbán is one of many new talents rising up in zero-degree gravity spots around the world: blurring the lines between many genres in electronica as easily as he crosses geographical borders. His interest in music started when he was a young kid and started to play guitar in a few local bands in his hometown. However, he became quickly bored of working with other people as his interest in electronic music was growing exponentially. At that time, he was primarily inspired by labels like Tigerbeat6, Schematic, V/Vm, Planet Mu, Rephlex, Phthalo, and the whole mash-up scene that was happening around the year 2000 and consequently decided to start his own project.
Several years later in 2005, after developing his own sound and trying to expand his work around the world, he got signed by french label Peace Off to release his first official album “Hippie Killers Don’t Mind Jah Conversations”(2006), which was followed by a european tour along labelmates Rotator and Krumble. Since then, his music has been in constant progress trying not to fit into or be part of a specific scene. Having released two full length albums, and with a slew of EPs under his belt on Shockout, True Tiger, Ad Noiseam, Lo Dubs, Spectraliquid, and Kode 9’s visionary Hyperdub, it’s little wonder Fact Magazine named him as one of their producers to watch in ‘09. In 2010 he started to work on his third LP to date, which will be released by Tigerbeat6 and see the light of day early 2011.
